Suggestion
-
Resolution: Fixed
Description
NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Cloud. Using JIRA Server? See the corresponding suggestion.
Scenario:
1. In browser's window (call it "Tab1") create a search to Find some issues.... - OR - open a saved filter. (call this result "Filter1")
2. Do some important manipulation of Filter1, such as sort by Assignee.
3. Decide that then you want to cross reference another filter, or search for another specific issue, thus:
4. Open a new browser window/tab (call it "Tab2"). Run another search... - OR - open a different saved filter. (call this result "Filter2")
5. Return to Tab1's original search results (Filter1) and attempt to manipulate it further, such as sort by a column, or click to next search result page.
6. Observe: The resulting display in Tab1 executes against Filter2. Your view of Filter1 is irretreviably lost.
Thus you can only ever engage with one 'active' filter in a browser session. Using 2+ filters simultaneously (even if Saved Filters) are not supported.
We cull so frequently and complexly from the data in our jira project, that this is a huge drawback.
