    XMLWordPrintable

Details

    Description

      Issue Summary

Color alone is used to distinguish links present in the paragraph of the footer section.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Open any "Crowd dc" page.
      2. Navigate to the mentioned links in the footer section.
      3. Notice only color is used to distinguish the links from the surrounding text.
      4. Use the CCA testing tool to check the contrast between the link text and the surrounding text.
      5. Observe that links have a low contrast ratio with the surrounding text.

      Actual Results

In the "footer section" of the page, when links are used in the paragraph of text, only color is used to distinguish them from the rest of the paragraph text. There is no other visual indication for links. Also, the color contrast between link text & adjacent text fails the minimum requirements.

      Link color: #7A869A
      Text color: #7A869A
      Ratio: 1:1

This makes it difficult for users with low vision & color deficiencies to distinguish the links from within the paragraph of text.

      Expected Results

Users should be able to easily identify the links within the block of text.

To make it easy for all users to recognize links the best practice is to persistently underline them or provide any other visual cue such as formatting the text as bold or italic. If the above solution is not feasible, change the color of links so that they have a contrast ratio of at least 3:1 with the surrounding text. Moreover, it is best practice to ensure that the underline appears not only when the mouse is hovered over the links but also when the links receive the keyboard focus.

      Workaround

Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available.
