Resolution: Won't Fix
Description
I just got bitten for the first time by the fact that Crucible now supports Confluence-style emoticons in comments. These hated things have been annoying Confluence users for years. You already have an issue suggesting improving their performance CRUC-2102. In terms of value vs annoyance I'm not sure that they are worthwhile in Confluence and really don't want them in Crucible.
I urge you to do this before releasing 2.1, since it's much much easier to never put them in than it is to take them out.
For anybody coming across this request wondering how to avoid an emoticon, just put a backslash in front of its start. Eg
\(on)
