Time is displaying differently after migrating from Server to Cloud

      Summary

      After migrating from Server to Cloud, the time is showing differently in "Page History" tab due to the JVM timezone. This is similar issue as in Jira: JRACLOUD-65305.

      Environment

      • Server to Cloud migration

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. In Confluence Server, make sure the user timezone is not set / has been set to other than UTC
      2. Perform a space export
      3. Import the backup into Confluence Cloud
      4. Compare the "Published" time in Page History between Server and Cloud

      Expected Results

      The time is showing the same as Confluence Server

      Actual Results

      The time is showing 8 hours late (taking UTC+8 as the example)

      Notes

      If -Duser.timezone is not set, it will take the system timezone.

      Workaround

      Please reach out to Atlassian Support to enable a fix on your site.

      This worked on only newly created content

      Set the user.timezone to UTC

      1. Under <installation-directory>/bin/
      2. Edit setenv.sh
      3. Add the timezone property: 
        CATALINA_OPTS="-Duser.timezone=UTC ${CATALINA_OPTS}"
