Description
Summary
When performing a manual upgrade to Confluence version 6.6.8 from an earlier version, the line Upgrade completed successfully does not show up in the atlassian-confluence.log file. This can cause confusion as to whether or not the upgrade was successful as users will not see the setup wizard when performing a manual upgrade.
Environment
- Confluence 6.6.8
Steps to Reproduce
- Install an earlier version of Confluence, such as 6.5.0.
- Perform a manual upgrade to Confluence 6.6.8
Expected Results
After taking the manual upgrade steps and restarting Confluence, the following info line should show up in the atlassian-confluence.log file:
2018-09-10 16:36:19,729 INFO [localhost-startStop-1] [atlassian.confluence.upgrade.AbstractUpgradeManager] entireUpgradeFinished Upgrade completed successfully
Actual Results
The Upgrade completed successfully line is missing from the log files.
Notes
This issue does not appear to affect the actual upgrade process but can be confusing for users that rely on this information to ensure that their upgrade was successful.
Workaround
While the Upgrade completed successfully line is missing from the logs, the user should still be able to run the upgrade process without any major issues. Users should look for the following line in their logs:
