    Description

NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

Currently it is impossible to have several characters appear as the value of a macro parameter, in particular '|' and '}'. This makes it difficult to have more complex content (regular expressions, for example) in macros.

It would be very helpful to have an escape mechanism for those special characters so that they can be included in parameter values. Using '\' would make sense (eg '|' or '}'), as it is used elsewhere in the renderer.
