Inline comments in Edit view

      NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

      Editing of an existing page is very often triggered via inline comments on that page. Currently, as inline comments are not viewable or actionable (resolve, respond) in view mode, one needs to toggle between View and Edit mode, especially if there are many comments.

            If you encounter this ticket and it's still open (which is probably for good) I advise enabling inline comments in edit mode on Server and DC with Talk - Advanced Inline Comments for Confluence app 

            It also provides a lot of features that native inline comments lack. F.e., the Suggestion feature to propose text corrections on a page, the Talk Report feature that allows overviewing comments on a page/space, and other features that significantly improve your experience with inline comments.

            We regret to inform you that due to limited demand, we have no plans to implement it in the foreseeable future. In order to set expectations, we're closing this request now. Sometimes potentially valuable tickets do get closed where the Summary or Description has not caught the attention of the community.
