Improve table selection so that it is easier to select a whole row, or whole column to apply formatting (bold, text alignment, heading level etc)

[CONFSERVER-33572] Select columns or rows in a table to apply formatting
Would be nice to be able to select multiple rows and columns, then “clear cell contents”.
I can not believe this was reported in 2018 and this feature is still not in place. What is needed from the community to influence this change?
I believe there is great demand for this feature but users are just not bothering to tell you- when they see they can't do it they go and use another tool. No one has time with all the options of tools available to work with a tool that doesn't have even basic features to make tables workable. Every product team I've worked on dreads working with confluence as a documentation tool.

In order to set expectations, we're closing this request now. Sometimes potentially valuable tickets do get closed where the Summary or Description has not caught the attention of the community. It's a shame that there hasn't been any progress on fixing this issue. My biggest headache with Confluence so far is selecting and modifying data in columns. The only way to do this right now is to cut and paste cells one at a time.
When a column of a table is selected and e.g. the align center button is pressed a line gets added above the table and the cursor moves there. So to change the alignment for a column in a table it is necessary to change each cell individually which is time-consuming. The user really expects to be able to align a whole row or column at once!
Agree for the need for this feature!
