Description
NOTE: This bug report is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding bug report.
Steps to reproduce:
- Disable Autoformatting in the personal Editor settings;
- Import a word document containing:
count(*)
For example, sample.docx.
- Expected result: (*) is displayed as text.
Actual result: the characters are recognized and rendered as an emoticon, and "count" is displayed. The * character is rendered as even though Auto Formatting has been disabled.
Workaround: manually add the escape character \ to the Word document before importing, e.g.
\:) \(*)
