Description
A customer reported that his user was not able to edit a Confluence page that has grown to 320K of markup and 63,000 lines.
If he is editing directly via http://localhost:8080 it works fine, but failed if he is using IE or Firefox via Apache. Interestingly, editing via Apache works when his user uses Chrome.
By failed, he meant the save attempt will result in a time out. No error in atlassian-confluence.log nor catalina.out
The point is, it might be a good idea to limit page length for the following reasons:
- They cannot be edited on major web browsers.
- Pages with that length are difficult to follow.
- It helps Confluence administrators to administer Confluence better.
It would be a good idea to have have this functionality available in the administration console.
