Edit and copy an emoticon in a table results in table row being split into two rows

When I edit the table show in Screenshot 1 I copy the tick and insert it twice a few rows later. I save the changes, result now is shown in Screenshot 2! Highlighted yellow you see that the structure now is messed up...
Idea what is going wrong? Thanks Michi
