Problem Definition
As an admin, the Office Connector should use the "Content Type" parameter instead of "File Name" to determine Office Connector Functions. When files are renamed and the extension on Office files is removed, the "View" button is not displayed.
Steps to reproduce:
- Enable the Office Connector.
- Create a Blank Page with the Attachment macro.
- Add an office attachment.
- Save the page.
- Notice the Attachment macro will have the "View" button enabled.
- Once verified, open the Properties option from the Attachment Macro.
- Remove the file extension from the File Name field and save.
- Notice the View button is no longer present and when attempting to Edit in Office, it is also unresponsive.
Suggested Solution
- The Office Connector should use the "Content Type" parameter instead of "File Name" in case end users change the File Name. The content type should be a constant identifier for Office files.
- Add better logging to indicate within the log files that the file extension is not a known one
Workaround
Add the file extension to the File Name.
