When images are exported to pdf, the quality is reduced

    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Cloud. Using Confluence Server? See the corresponding suggestion.

It seems that the images are scaled slightly, which causes especially affects any images containing text.

      Steps to reproduce:

      • create a page that contains chart plugin (including axis label or similar)
      • export this page to pdf
      • notice that the text on the chart is reduced in quality

An example where this is even more noticeable when using plugins that render latex. The text in the images is blurred significantly compared to the surrounding text.

I guess these issues are related:
            CONF-22535
            CONF-25974
            CONF-19706

None of these issues have been assigned!!

I am also disappointed with the quality of the PDF export, it should at least reach the quality of the Office 2010 PDF export, which shows what is technically feasable. Thanks for considering.

This is a bug!! How can you work with PDF exportation without good images rendering?!!

I strongly disagree that this is not a bug. Using plugins such as LaTeX Math that output text as png, the result when exporting to pdf is far too poor to be used for anything external, which for us is the primary area of usage for pdf export.
