    Description

NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Cloud. Using Confluence Server? See the corresponding suggestion.

      Scope:

      • adding a Google Apps drawing to a confluence page
        • selecting the drawing by using a widget (would prefer a balsamiq-like integration though)

      Problem:
I can not add a Google Docs drawing to a confluence page as I could add a Google Docs Document.

      • When using a widget that uses the Google Documents Picker the drawing does not show up and can not be added.
      • When using the Widget connector the confluence page will only show a blank white area, not matter if I published to Web by making the drawing public or by requiring Google Apps credentials for viewing it.

      Goal:

      • I want to have a scoping session with my development team pointing them to the design page on Confluence. If necessary anyone in the team should be able to click on the document, bringing it into edit mode and we could redraw live as necessary.

      Workaround:

      • Create the Google Drawing
      • Export it as PNG
      • Attach the PNG to the Confluence page
      • Copy the Google Docs link
      • Add the Google Docs link to the Confluence page
      • Do the review session
      • Modify the Google Drawing
      • Export it as PNG
      • Attach the new PNG to the Confluence page

      Suggested Solutions:

The ideal integration would just embed the Google Drawing into the Confluence page and anyone who wants to edit it could click on an "Edit"-link.
Clicking on "Edit" would load the drawing into Google Docs.

The good-enough-solution would be to support drawings in the Widget Connector
not requiring the publishing step in Google Docs, but just using the Google Docs link that has /edit at the end

The goal must be to allow us to collaborate on the drawing, not requiring a manual update of links or attachments. The envisioned interaction is like the Balsamiq plug-in in a Google-Docs-Link-multi-user mode.
