Resolution: Fixed
Description
NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Cloud. Using Confluence Server? See the corresponding suggestion.
Currently the list of supported Syntax Highlightings in the {code} macro are limited, and will require to be altered as the support languages develop (eg: to include Generics in Java 1.5).
It is suggested that the highlighting rules, regular expressions and word lists be made dynamic - pulling from configuration files (xml prefered). This way languages can be added and altered by end users and atlassian alike. Programs like Edit Plus / TextPad already do this, in their own way - and import / conversion routines would be nice too (saves redefinition).
Finally, at the last phase Armond suggests to open the interface to the users either to directly define their syntax highlighting format via web UI or to import from the already existed ones!
