      NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Cloud. Using Confluence Server? See the corresponding suggestion.

      It would be very helpful to have a startup parameter to disable the sending and/or receiving of email.
      Jira has this, as described here.

      The request arose from CSP-13262, in which the site admin regularly test-restores backups. Firewall-based kludges will work, but a built-in facility within Confluence would be far tidier.
