Why is this low priority? This is critical for us as we cannot access the mail server via POP.
Timescales on this?

Daniel Ostermeier added a comment - 18/Dec/05 10:14 PM
Hi Darren,

This is marked with a low priority since there is usually a workaround to provide a pop3 interface on an imap server. There is currently no timeframe for this. Please see http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DEV/Implementation+of+New+Features+and+Improvements for details on how we schedule our releases.

Regards,
-Daniel

Unfortunately i don't think i can add this functionality via a plugin, else i'd try and code it myself.
We have Jira too and that has IMAP capability. I'll have a look there and see if i can port it across.

Any pointers to where i can find the code?

In Confluence, DefaultMailAccountManager is where you want to start looking.

Neil Arrowsmith added a comment - 07/Mar/06 09:47 AM
Voted for this. Opening up POP is a security risk for us, so we can't use email in Confluence as a result.

Phillip Steinbachs added a comment - 13/May/06 11:33 PM
We discontinued all forms of POP several years ago, and only provide IMAPS now. We're just starting to deploy instances of Confluence and need the integrated E-mail features. This is an important feature for us that needs to be added ASAP.

Nick Minutello added a comment - 15/May/06 07:17 AM
Chaps, this needs some escalation.

We too dont have POP3 available - and can only use IMAP. And the Mail Archive feature is going to be very important for us.

Jira has IMAP support - I find it a bit odd that confleunce doesnt...

Nick Minutello added a comment - 15/May/06 07:19 AM
I am interested in the IMAP support more than the IMAPS - but that aside, can we get something moving on this?

Jens Schumacher [Atlassian] added a comment - 19/May/06 02:30 AM
Raised the priority on this one.

Todd Gamblin added a comment - 19/Jun/06 12:48 PM
I'd really like to see this and CONF-3907 resolved soon – these are preventing us from archiving our email on our wiki, and I think it's a shame that so many others are in the same boat. This sould be escalated further, as it makes a pretty big feature of Confluence entirely unusable for those of us who can't use plain old POP.

Dave Loeng [Atlassian] added a comment - 25/Jun/06 11:28 PM
Hi,

Just letting you know that POPS, IMAP and IMAPS support has been added to Confluence 2.2.5

Cheers,
Dave

Excellent. Thanks.
