As a tech writer at Atlassian, I am often asked how we do release management i.e. how do we publish separate versions of the documents for each major release of each product. The answer is: we use spaces as our version control mechanism. And we use the Copy Space plugin to create the copies of the spaces for each major product release.

But the "Copy Space" plugin is not supported

Each time I describe our procedures, I say something like this (via Twitter, email, docs, what have you):

To make the archive copy of the space, we use the Copy Space plugin:
http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CONFEXT/Copy+Space+Plugin
It's not officially supported by Atlassian, but it was developed by an Atlassian developer specifically for the Atlassian tech writers and we make sure he keeps it up to date

The plugin provides the only feasible way of copying a space. The other way is to do an XML export, then edit the XML to change the space key.

It would be great if we could bundle the plugin or at least support it
