 Description  « Hide
About a week ago, a test Bamboo installation I have set up on a Windows 2003 server started to have an error when trying to browse to it, both from the local machine it is installed on and remotely. I have also tried using both IE and Firefox. The error started when 1.0-rc1 had been in use for a while and still exists after an upgrade to rc2.

On thing that may be a factor is licences. If the test licences for beta copies last 30 days, it could be the case that the licence I am using has run out. However, the error doesn't give an indication this is the case and Bamboo still seems to be running build plans. The email with my licence key in it doesn't provide information as to when the licence is valid until.

When trying to browse to http://host:8085, IE gives an error saying "The page cannot be displayed". Firefox gives a more detailed error:

===============
The page isn't redirecting properly
Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

  • This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept
    cookies.

Michael,

Are you using the standalone version of Bamboo? I've tried reproducing the error here with an expired license without too much success...

If you try hitting

http://host//setup/updateLicense!default.action

What do you get then?

Cheers

When I visit the updateLicence page in comment #1 I get the same error page in Firefox and IE as mentioned in the description ("The page isn't redirecting properly...").

I tried clearing my cookies in IE in case this was a cookie problem and the the error persisted.

Michael,

Apologies for the slow response - we have been pretty snowed in recently.

I have spent some more time trying to replicate this one and I think I have managed to get this happening as well. I believe it has to do with the license redirection and login redirection working in conjunction (one redirecting to the other and then redirecting back).

We'll get a fix out shortly for this.

Regards,
Edwin
