Confluence
Summary
Currently, the Ask AI feature in Confluence Cloud may include information from the LLM's training data, which spans a variety of sources from all over the web from when the training occurred. This can sometimes lead to less irrelevant results since users might be expecting that the feature will perform a search considering specific internal documentation or knowledge.
As a Confluence Cloud user, I would like to have the ability to restrict some way the Ask AI feature to search within the content of our specific Confluence Cloud instance only. This would enhance the relevance and utility of search results by focusing on our internal documentation and resources.
Proposed Solution
Introduce a functionality that allows users to limit the Ask AI search scope to their own Confluence Cloud instance. This could be implemented by enabling a command or option such as "Considering this site only, search for <question>" to instruct the AI to focus solely on the content within the specific Confluence instance.
Benefits
- Increased Relevance: Users will receive search results that are more pertinent to their specific organizational context, improving efficiency in finding relevant information.
- Enhanced Privacy and Security: Limiting search to the organization's content reduces the risk of inadvertently displaying or relying on external information that may not align with internal policies or contexts.
- Improved User Experience: Users will have a more streamlined experience, as they can quickly access the information they need without sifting through irrelevant external data.
- Customizability: Organizations can better tailor the AI's functionality to their specific needs and documentation structures.
