Thanks again for all your patience as we continue to work through this issue. We understand this is frustrating but we are steadily making progress. To that end, I'm happy to share that the App Switcher "Recommended for You" section is now covered by our new opt out capability!
Other experiences that are affected:
Promotional "Flag" Popups
Promotional "Full Screen" Popups
Promotional "Wide Banner" Popups
Various other in-product promotional surfaces
In the next few months we will continue to integrate more experiences with this opt out, such as the banner in the "Your Work" page in Jira. If you have already opted out of promotional messaging you will start to see these surfaces disappear as they are integrated with the new system.
As a reminder, please file a support ticket to have this capability added to your site, or if you are noticing other promotional experiences that should be disabled.

Issue Summary
After disabling the Product Recommendations in the System settings, products are still being recommended for the users.
The Product Recommendation is OFF with no way to edit it.
Expected Results
With the setting disabled, we expect that no in-product recommendations in Jira Cloud will appear for admins and end-users.
Actual Results
Currently, regardless of the setting disabled, customers can still see in-product recommendations, more specifically for the below products:
Compass
Jira Service Management
Atlas
Jira Product Discovery
Aside from the in-product recommendations, under Apps, end users can still request for apps and can see the option "Recommended for your Team"
As a side-effect, this is resulting in Admins receiving unwanted product requests from end users.
Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available.
Below are examples of the types of promotions that will be disabled by the opt out today. Over 500 different messages are affected, covering the majority of "popups" at Atlassian. However, some may still be missed. Let us know if you have opted out and are still seeing these. Thanks!
"Flag" popups
"Modal" popups
"Wide banner" popups
What's coming next:
We are working on the App Switcher "Recommended for You" section, followed by recommendations on the "Your Work" page in Jira.

This needs to be resolved! It is incredibly frustrating to receive requests from users to activate licences on items without any management oversite or alignment. This wastes time for Atlassian admins.

9c22904e9928 at least the ticket was not marked resolved
Hard for me to replicate the thinking of the minds that decided: Enterprise only.....could Atlassian elaborate, why this is being staged from top to down (assumption)? Is it the workflow at Atlassian? Is it the implementation infrastructure that makes this approach "reasonable"?
I did not expect the Spanish inquisition!

Hi Alexander, Thank you for your patience and understanding. We have received feedback from the support team and they have confirmed that this option is only available for our Cloud Enterprise customers. This is a restricted feature available to Enterprise customers at the moment. Hope this explains why the feature can't be removed at the moment.Best Regards,Elaine

This feature is one of the worst things Atlassian has created. How can you offer something that allows regular employees to simply create new subscriptions, bypassing accounting, approvals, and more?

I also recommend that placing this link to switch off shall act like a switch. you would expect a ON/OFF symbol like all other switches on top, but it is merely a link. Not very good UI design.

Good to see some progress on this, is there an ETA for the next areas?
App Switcher "Recommended for You" section
"Your Work" page in Jira.
Recommendations in "Apps" dropdown
Will we need to raise a new request for these parts when rolled out or will it fall under the same rules applied for disabling the pop ups?

Unable to attach images to this ticket any longer. Just FYI, just this morning alone, I have received 6 spam/product recommendations via the calls to action within Jira. Whatever is being done on your side is not working.
