    Description

Basic stats will be provided by AWS for CPU, network throughput, etc.

Ensure that we include AWS custom metrics scripts for memory and disk usage stats.

      https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/mon-scripts.html

We won't be configuring any applicaiton monitoring as TAC is not currently instrumented via statsd and we don't consider this a worthwhile investment currnetly.

Optionally, we can add a daemon to emit JVM profiling stats via StatsD (https://github.com/etsy/statsd-jvm-profiler). I'm inclined to say that we skip doing this also.

Logs should be sent to splunk via LaaS

Guidelines here: Sending logs to LaaS

On our instances we will install FluentD to send the logs.
