Based on https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/STASH/Transitioning+from+jTDS+to+Microsoft's+JDBC+driver the jTDS driver was replaced with the one from Microsoft because support for Java 6 was still required in Stash. Now that Java 6 has been deprecated in Stash 3.0+ it would be nice to support the jTDS driver so that Windows Authentication Mode can be used on linux when connecting to a MS SQL Database.
