It would be great if customers could be able to see the commits from Stash on the JIRA activity stream. This feature will give them the possibility to centralize this information at JIRA when applications were integrated.

Most of that functionality isn't useful for us. I'm confused why the commits were moved from a useful place to a separate window devoid of context unable to be seen at the same time as the comments?

Our developers set the JIRA comment and time worked using Smart Commits. Seemed like the cheapest / most efficient workaround.

We believe that this request for showing Stash commits in JIRA is satisfied by the development panel that has been available since late last year, so this issue will be closed.

If there's a use case for commits not satisfied by this approach, please comment here.

Yes, the development panel does not solve the use case for commit messages in the activity. The old way was to show the commit messages in the activity flow for an issue. Pulling the commit messages aside to their own popup display window divorces them from the context of the work we do. This means we now have to type the same information into a comment and provide a link to the commit in order to be able to read a JIRA issue history. It's double the work.

I find the Development panel to be useless, and the movement of commits from existing within the Activity flow of an issue makes it more manual copy/paste on our part.

In short, this does not satisfy the request in any meaningful manner. The Development panel is at best orthogonal to the need.

I agree, considering that Bamboo builds are shown it is strange that commits are not.
