Windows service behaves poorly (doesn't shut down, reports successful startup too early)

I'm still not sure what happened. I was running an old version. I stopped the service. But the service kept running (it shouldn't have).

Then I uninstalled the service, installed the service for a newer version, and started it. The old java proc was still running, but the new service started fine anyway (it shouldn't have).

Then I did stuff, thinking I was using the new version, but clearly I was not. Finally realized I had some rogue javas, killed those, and restarted the service with a fresh stash home. Works fine now.

I'm running Kostya's distro of 1.2.0.

This is starting from a clean STASH_HOME.

I can provide a copy of the STASH-HOME as-is if you need.
