      For Reference: https://github.com/blog/966-improved-subversion-client-support

The Reasoning behind this: Our development shop is currently using SVN, the developers want to switch to git, but the management can't justify porting over all our different scripts that depend on SVN. Nor do they want to manage two systems.

Having SVN Client support would allow us to migrate over to STASH while maintaining legacy SVN client support for the scripts that require it.

As a paying customer, I hope that this gets reopened.  Github has this functionality and it provides the simple svn command-line interface to developers quite nicely.

So I see this as "Won't fix/implement." I'm here to voice my opinion.

I'd love to have a combined solution for Git + SVN repositories. We have a huge (game) assets repository on SVN--large enough to make Git not a viable option for us right now. Right now, our SVN is managed quite manually and there's no really good management options for SVN on the market.

Our team is now considering to add SVN client support to Bitbucket Server based on SubGit and SVN Mirror add-on. We'd much appreciate your feedback at our issue tracker: SVN Support for Bitbucket Server.

Albeit it was not detailed what those scripts do, if part of the required functionality is verifying the commits before they are accepted to the repo, then you may want to check out the Commit Policy Plugin.

It does commit verification for SVN, Git or even Bitbucket Server. It could potentially support your transition, or at least reduce the friction.

Although we may reconsider, at this time it's unlikely that we'd add native SVN client support to Bitbucket Server. I'll keep watching this suggestion for feedback and keep an eye on any developments with the SVN Mirror add-on to ensure that appropriate options are available.

We have no plans for SVN client support. As Roger pointed out, take a look at the SVN mirror add-on. It's a much better solution than simple SVN client support.

To sad this needs an other tool and (still) a subversion installation...

The SVN Mirror Add-on for Stash has come a long way in the last year. It can be used to set up a bi-directional mirror.
