Please add a folder view to the working copy tree. In large projects it is quite hard to find files in a non structured view.

I had hard time finding this option. To get a tree view on your project, you'll have to go in File Status, and change the filtering options to All Files and the presentation to Tree View.

It's kind of non intuitive & not user friendly to switch from a pending changes view ( Pending Files + List View + Split View Staging ) to a project exploration view ( All Files + Tree View + No staging )

This seems fixed, but when Iam at the Working Copy, no commits left, no files appear there. I show All files and anything comes up. What's going on?

Thank you kindly, IT has now installed the older and better version for me.  It won't read repositories in my home volume, but works once I copy to C:—a small price to pay for basic functionality.

I can't believe you call this fixed!?!? The new tree view is a piece of garbage. I've reverted to an old version, AGAIN, to get back the functionality that is vital to how I use SourceTree. While I wait for a real fix for this problem I'll be researching for a new Git GUI. I couldn't find a reliable location for downloading 1.7 so I had to install from an old download of 1.6 and use the in-product updates to upgrade to 1.7.0.32509 which seems to be the last version available that contained a truly functional tree view.

I just started using SourceTree today and added a repository.

Guess what my first action was on adding code?

Viewing the code in a tree form. Which, btw is not available.

So I have to add my voice to the growing list of folks who really want this feature. And I also disagree that the priority on this is minor. Please fix it folks!

There's a check box for "Enable Tree View" in Tools > Options but it doesn't seem to do anything. From the comments it seems like this was working for a bit then went away. Could you guys please restore it? It's tremendously useful for usability and pretty frustrating to not have. Thanks!

This needs an emergency fix, asap. I can live with the latest update as long as this feature is in there. Love SourceTree, but I need this to continue using this product, it's the one feature that convinced me to use the tool and a Git UI in the first place. You still have the "option" under Tools > Options > General -> "Enable Tree View as a file listing option", but doesn't do a thing from what I can tell.

Even the old tree view was only partly useful. This is the only reason I can't fully switch to SourceTree yet and have to have a second tool (git extensions) installed. That beeing said, SourceTree has a lot of great features and I wouldn't want to miss it.

I don't get how this is not a must for them. Even old and cumbersome Java Swing offered a tree view component. It's the standard for file management, and it's by long more important than any smart filter, sorting or grouping you can add. List files? Use a tree view.

Changing the UI is one thing, removing functionality (like the missing tree view now) is ridiculous.

            SourceTree v1.6.9 BETA

            Changelog:
            http://www.sourcetreeapp.com/update/WindowsReleaseNotes_public_beta.html

Note: you can install the SourceTree Beta in parallel with the stable release but can only run one at a time. The beta version will receive beta updates only and will not transition to the stable version via auto-update.

EDIT: I would suggest marking SRCTREEWIN-503 as a duplicate.

There is a Beta at the moment (check the Sourcetree Twitter feed for download details).

It's not particularly stable (but then I can't really remember the last time Sourcetree Windows was stable, 1.2x maybe?)

OK, I'm concerned about the progress of this issue. Two months ago we were told that this feature was in testing and might show up in a point release. One month ago its target release version was removed. Now it still is not even on the roadmap even though it remains the highest voted issue on this site, doubling the interest of the next popular one (which is fixed) and tripling the one after that (which is on the roadmap for V1.7). It would be nice to know what is going on here.

We've certainly got our fair share of chronic sliders in JIRA. But in our case, we always do a stellar job of providing commentary to go along with any changes to the Fix Version. The out-and-out removal of the Fix Version pretty much requires logging verbose justification.

Just started using SourceTree a few days ago in replacement of TortoiseGit. The product itself is awesome! Plus it's free which is always nice. However, after browsing every possible option while making my commit, I stared at the screen in disbelief: I really couldn't believe there was no hierarchical display. It's quite a showstopper, really!

Completely agree with Christian, this issue is a stopper for using SourceTree and Stash in our company. We only use Windows and our repositories are big ones, so the Tree view is very important, not a 'Minor' issue.

This was targeted at 1.5.3 (which never arrived back in April) and seem to be missing from 1.6 beta, which doesn't seem to offer very much worthwhile at all, merely changing things that already work around.

I view this as they found several bugs that were deemed big enough to push a release earlier whereas this is a new feature. The fact that they pushed out a release and immediately changed the target version for this issue means its something that is still on their radar.

That said, I also am highly anticipating this feature.
