If a change is made to a file that is currently selected in SourceTree, the entire diff view is cleared when the screen is updated. In order to see the diff you must modify the current selection (add or remove a selected file) for the diff to reappear.

In previous versions of SourceTree, the diff view was updated to account for the recent change.
