Push screen does not show tracked branches

Just recently I have not been able to push changes to my remote repo using the UI "Push" screen.  The "Branches to push" list is empty.  So when i click the "Push" button at the bottom of the screen, nothing happens. If I open a terminal window and type "git push" it works fine.  I can also pull and fetch fine from the UI.  Thanks
