Description
Hello,
I am pretty bad with command line so I always use Sourcetree to manage my Bitbucket repo. Since the last update to AppPassword, it's impossible for me to clone any repo on my laptop which is "private". I already tried:
- Use "OAuth" login directly by Sourcetree
- Use "Basic" login with my username + AppPassword
With both solution I can clone my "shared" repo but I can't clone my "private" repo. I get the following error :
_Commande: git -c diff.mnemonicprefix=false -c core.quotepath=false --no-optional-locks ls-remote https://vvuagniaux@bitbucket.org/vf-devteam/test2.git_
Sortie:
Erreur: remote: Bitbucket Cloud recently stopped supporting account passwords for Git authentication.
_remote: See our community post for more details: https://atlassian.community/t5/x/x/ba-p/1948231_
remote: App passwords are recommended for most use cases and can be created in your Personal settings:
_remote: https://bitbucket.org/account/settings/app-passwords/_
fatal: Authentication failed for 'https://bitbucket.org/vf-devteam/test2.git/'
I am using Sourcetree V3.4.8 on Windows 10. I tried on 2 different laptop and result is same everytime.
I use HTTPS to clone my repo. Here is an example of my https request :

Thank you for your great feedback
