Adding issues to the current active sprint in greenhopper is a hassle.
We need to find in plan mode and rank it to the top and only than drag it to the current active sprint - it can be very frustrating.

Regarding the location of the buttun within the issue page we would like to have one of the foloowing:
      1. An action button just like we have Workflow actions within the issue page
      2. It can sit down next to the link "View in rapid board".

We would also like to see it in the plan mode as an action at the right hand panel (after clikcing the Options drop-down menu).

            Great news all,

As of the latest JIRA Agile version, you can now add issues to sprints in a number of ways.

            • Right-clicking issues on Plan Mode to add them to a sprint
            • Editing the Sprint field on an issue to add it to a sprint

More information on these methods is outlined in our documentation.

Thanks for your votes and interest!

Ana, you could use a "subtask" raised under the ticket that failed. This would be automatically be added to the sprint.

This also needs to cater for con-current sprints.

I agree with this a lot!

Please see https://support.atlassian.com/browse/JST-49486 for I am having the same problem and the QA team is extremely unhappy by the friction it causes to go back to planning mode and drag every sigle bug they create during the Sprint. This was not the case in classic board, and should not be the case on the new Rapid View. We need this implemented asap.

            I agree strongly.

There is already a "remove from sprint" action in the scrum work board (see https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/GH/Removing+an+Issue+from+a+Sprint#RemovinganIssuefromaSprint-RemovinganIssuefromanActiveSprint). It would be great if an equivalent "add to active sprint" action existed in the scrum plan board, because ti would save me much headache-inducing dragging and scrolling during sprint planning meetings.

I'd like to add that it is nice to be able to add the issue to the active sprint at issue create page.
When you know that you are creating this issue for the active sprint, why shouldn't you be able to add it to the active sprint on the spot?

It is just so painful to create the issue, scroll down to the bottom of the backlog and drag it to the top of the page to add it to the active sprint. I would say it is nice to have a button next to the active sprint (like a big plus) to create an issue directly for that sprint.

I know thinking agile you would say that maybe you are not supposed to keep adding stories to your current sprint that you are working on, but I guess in reality unforeseen things happen :>
