      Windows 8 build 8400

As a user, I expect GreenHopper to fully support the new version of IE in Windows 8 by the time Windows 8 is released.

Currently the following error is thrown:

      An exception occurred
Please try refreshing the page, or contact your administrator / Atlassian Support if the problem continues.

The intent of this issue is not to fix this specific bug, but to make sure that Windows 8 and the new version of IE are added to the GH test matrix at some point prior to the release of Windows 8.

[JSWSERVER-5308] GreenHopper throws errors when accessed in IE10

Thank you everyone for your comments.

All GreenHopper versions that are supported in JIRA 6.0 (GreenHopper 6.1.5 and onwards) should not experience this problem in IE 10.

I will close this issue now. Please feel free to create new issues for any specific problems you see using these versions of JIRA and GreenHopper.

            Many thanks,
            Michael Tokar [Atlassian]

We moved to the latest version of Jira v6.0.1 and all of the problems we'd seen with certain browsers including IE10 have gone away.

Lynn, I'm no longer having any issues with IE10 in Jira 5.2 and GreenHopper 6.2 - maybe you just need to update?

We are having the same problem with Windows 7 / IE10 users. Users were auto updated to IE10. Is there a workaround?

I can't get our IT folks to upgrade yet, we're still almost a year behind on Jira updates. Trying to do something about it... I'll post when I have some results.

@ Herb Fickes - what was the result of upgrade to Jira 5.2.x? We're having same issue in our company and any new PCs, laptops have IE 10 installed.

I tried your second link and it worked, though I couldn't try much since I don't have access to the other options, but I was able to see the basic board.

We'll upgrade our Jira version to the 5.2.x and try that.

fickes_herb my apologies for the incorrect link, please try this one: https://jira.atlassian.com/secure/RapidBoard.jspa?rapidView=193

As I mentioned previously, IE 10 is not yet officially supported, hence the lack of certainty around what works. However I believe it will work on JIRA 5.2.x.

Michael, UI can't test this using the link since I don't have access to that board. Instead I get:

"The requested board cannot be viewed because it either does not exist or you do not have permission to view it."

Shouldn't someone at Atlassian have tested IE 10 support?
