Trillions of unnecessary E-Mail-Notifications were sent so far. 

When will Atlassian finally listen and prioritize this popular request. Imagine there's only 0.5% of users that make an effort to actually upvote requests like this. The need is real.

I saw that they rolled out this functionality in Jira Cloud. Hoping a change comes in a LTS release for Data Center. 

For what it's worth, our work-around was to create an internal Jira user account that we commit plan changes with, we also set a rule on our Outlook Exchange Server to block emails from that user. 

This would be a great addition!

We need this, its such a BASIC feature! 

Please add this feature. I am adding portfolio and roadmaps into our Jira projects, but spamming of the users is making setup and organization difficult. I want the best user experience, which means as a project manager I need to be able to configure how and when I communicate with customers, stakeholders, and teams. 

I would definitely support this too.  We use the Plans functionality and I love it, but I'm constantly getting masses of emails everytime our PM does a bulk update.  It's killing my inbox! Especially as I usually do monitor the Jira emails and don't usually fob them off through an auto filter.     +1 from me on this issue!

We had not transitioned to the new UI because of these notifications which spam users and create confusion. Since the legacy version will be sunset with Jira 9 this feature is needed asap for Advanced Roadmaps.

We had to stop using Portfolio/Plans because of this.

This is a real impediment to Plans adoption, as updates create a storm of notifications. Please implement a fix for this as soon as possible!

I have to manually disable the outgoing emails from the admin console every time . It would be amazing to do it from the 'Save Selected Changes in Jira' screen, after clicking 'Review Changes'.

Plus, you can't bulk edit tickets and add a team, so there is no workaround. No, I'm not temporarily disabling notifications for a schema used by 250+ projects.

Yes. Every time I drag issues around that sets target start/end it sends emails about everything.

Same here, we recently started using portfolio plans and get a lot of complaints.

We are starting to use Portfolio and I am now getting lots of complain about this.  Can this be fix soon please?

I need this for Cloud. I have a button on my UI which now shows 3201 uncommitted changes - there is no way to do this without using the hack right now. This makes the bulk tools of portfolio ridiculously hard to use when you have to hack your own workflow notifications schema each time you want to press to commit.

We hit this today. A user updated thousands of issues at once and blew up our mail queue for hours.
I'm kinda surprised by the low number of votes on this issue. For large organizations that use Portfolio with hundreds of thousands (or millions) of issues, this is a problem.
