As documented on the New version of DVCS Connector bundled with Jira, on Jira 8.14 a new version of DVCS was shipped with the product.
This new version introduced changes to the polling of information from external sources such as Bitbucket and GitHub, that now avoid full repository syncs, instead only syncing new information into Jira. This change can vastly improve its performance.
However, the polling sync changes only apply to newly configured repositories and organizations. The legacy connections still utilize the old polling method.
As a workaround, you may unlink and re-link the same repository/organization in order to move into the new method (this is a non-destructive process so no information is lost), however, this can be challenging for larger instances with hundreds or thousands of linked repositories.
- To help address this situation, it would be great if there was an option to switch the polling method from within Jira itself for all, or at least a group of repositories at a time.
