Accessing Issues directly would cause the associated Board to show up in 'Recent Boards' list

      Issue Summary

      When accessing Issues directly without going through the Board (e.g. via Filter), the associated Board would still appear in 'Recent Boards' list. This seems like an odd behavior given the fact that the Board itself was not accessed. This also proves to be problematic for Issues with multiple Boards associated, as the Board that would be displayed in 'Recent Boards' list would be random, thus making the list inaccurate.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. As a Jira Administrator, create 2 Boards, each with individual Projects and Issues
      2. Create a new user
      3. Login as the new user
      4. Notice the 'Recent Boards' list (in 'Boards' header) is empty
      5. Go to 'Issues' > 'Search for issues'. Search for 1 of the Issues.
      6. Access the issue directly
      7. Check the 'Recent Boards' list
        You might need to refresh the page
        • The Board associated to the Issue would appear, despite the user not accessing the Board itself.

      Expected Results

      The 'Recent Boards' list would not display the Boards when accessing the Issues directly

      Actual Results

      Boards would be displayed in the 'Recent Boards' list when accessing the associated Issues directly.

            As we need to stay with an LTS version (currently 8.5.9), we would also love to have this fix be available within Jira 8.5.x or at least 8.13.x. What is your plan for LTS versions?

            So we upgraded to Jira 8.5.4 and within a week three separate people had contacted us about this. It's just annoying to see boards you've never heard of appearing in your list of Recent Boards. Just because I visit an issue doesn't mean that I want to know about its boards!
