      Problem Definition

The hierarchical levels created above Epic are shown as issues of the Standard Issue Type in the Board Backlog. The customer would like to have a separate view for Initiatives on the Board, such as you see for Epics.

The screenshot above illustrates the hierarchical level above Epic, Capability in this case, is shown in the backlog.

      Suggested Solution

Add Initiatives View (or any hierarchical level higher than Epic configured in Advanced Roadmaps) in the Boards

I'm begging you, please implement this feature.  This the last peice to the puzzle for us, we have sooooo many boards we ask people to hop between and having the ability to filter backlogs by iniative and epic would make things so much simpler.

In our project, it's important to visualize, at a glance, all the effort going from the very top level (Initiatives, Strategic Themes) to the very low level of issue type. We will appreciate your work here for the community.

Can we have a view for Feature > Epic > User Story / Bug? This is quite limiting view from the Product Owner perspective.

To not have another level of categorisation above EPIC is pretty limiting.  How is this not there already?

This would really help my team as they adopt scrum and learn to use the issue hierarchy effectively. They need quick filters or "group by initiative" on the sprint board to help focus their conversations.

            Very much seeking this capability

Fiona Lauchlan added a comment - Very much seeking this capability

In today's setup, where you can:

            • juggle with Features, Epics, Initiatives
            • rename the different levels the way you like
            • choose your own parent hierarchy

it is very limiting to only work with 1 panel view still related to that 1 Epic-Anchor point (renamed or not).

+1 we really need this feature!
