IE nodeType script error on image paste while accessing issue from board

Summary

Pasting a screenshot or other image into the visual tab in IE while editing, creating, or viewing an issue on a Kanban or Scrum board will fail with a javascript error.

Environment

• IE 11
• Kanban/Scrum boards

Steps to Reproduce

1. Navigate to a Kanban board
2. Select an issue on the board
3. In the Issue view on the right click on the description
4. Select the visual tab
5. Copy and paste an image into the visual tab

Expected Results

Image is pasted into visual tab, editing can continue and the image is attached when the edit is saved.

Actual Results

Javascript error is thrown and displayed on the page

Exception: Unable to get property 'nodeType' of undefined or null reference

Notes

• Create is also affected by this while on the board (main create link in menu bar).
• This only occurs in the boards, pasting images works fine in the standard issue or create views.
• Can also happen without pasting an image and just switching tabs.

Workaround

Edit issues in issue view or in search instead of from the board.
