We collect Jira feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.
Currently we do have epics however labels work just like #tags. Users apply several labels to a single story in order to

[JSWSERVER-12365] As a user, I should be able to change the color of labels for better visibility.
Hi, can you please add this feature. It will really be helpful. Labels are currently almost unmanageable.
66e59a1edce9 Wrong address, I don't work for Atlassian. I just dropped them a hint, but the two tickets remain unlinked, so I guess no one noticed.
@piotr - Voting was open for this issue. You have closed it without seeing that this issue had 276 votes and 19551 has only 136 votes.
Why was it done? As already duplicate issues were tagged to this story. On what basis this decision was made???
19551 is copied from this story as this was raised in 2015. This is an utter disappointment from you Piotr. This is pure lack of judgement on your part. It is highly unacceptable that a member from such organisation can't even check the basic things.
Ah, there's a duplicate with open voting: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWSERVER-19551
No one have linked these two as duplicates, the community caught it: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/Label-Colors-in-Issue/qaq-p/916840
A user asked about it today (may have seen it in Trello). Could this perhaps be transitioned to a different status in order to unlock voting?
+1
Jira: "We provide overly complicated customization options for every minor detail you could think of! Except colors for labels. We couldn't possibly do that. Nobody wants it anyways."
I assumed this as a given, only to find out you are not even planning to implement... please reconsider.
Makes no sense not to do this!! It's so basic and obvious to everyone that it barely warrants a mention - it should be a given....even it's little brother Trello can do it. Who makes these decisions...?
Won't do? Seriously?
Why do I even bother voting or looking for solutions to issues.
Guys. Adding +1 won't do anything. The ticket is closed. They are ignoring us. They have old clunky Java software and it's not easy for them to clean up their mess. The only way we have to proceed is to move to Azure Devops and stop paying for Jira. Then they will come with something better or simply ditch Jira. The way it is does not fit today's needs.
+1, it should go along with an interface to manage labels, please reconsider it !
I would give a biscuit for it
https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1215469/label-manager-for-jira?hosting=server&tab=overview looks like it does this for server
Having the flexibility for label colors would be beneficial for my company's usage of Jira and improved tracking of issues/stories.
Hi,
I think that having colored labels would help managing the backlog very much.
As this feature is not available, I've seen several teams using the versions or components to have such a visual categorization..
I think you should do some inquiry in your customer base to assess if this is really needed or not.
Btw, despite of being logged in, I'm not able to vote for the issue, just to start watching it. If that's the case for more people, maybe that's why you don't get so many requests for it.
Thanks for considering it in any case.
Hi,
Thank you for raising this suggestion. We regret to inform you that due to limited demand, we have no plans to implement it in the foreseeable future. In order to set expectations, we're closing this request now. Sometimes potentially valuable tickets do get closed where the Summary or Description has not caught the attention of the community. If you feel that this suggestion is valuable, consider describing in more detail or outlining how this request will help you achieve your goals. We may then be able to provide better guidance.

Thanks again.

To clarify, is this a Suggestion for labels to be coloured in a similar way to epic labels?
Kind regards,
