    • We collect Jira feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

NOTE: This feature request is for JIRA Software Server. Using JIRA Software Cloud? See the corresponding request.

      1. Multiple agile boards are create for a existing projects.
      2. When accessing project overview ( From top navigation menu: Project -> Select Project
      3. It will display the last accessed board if the project has multiple boards.

It would be nice if there is an ability to configure a default board to be shown on the project overview per project.

          Form Name

[JSWSERVER-11952] Ability to configure a default board to show for a project

This is something that our team would love to leverage. Adding our name to the list here, this would be for project board admins, not just Jira admins (team-managed project). Hopefully this feature can be a future implementation.

I don't understand why this isn't possible! Jira is about helping teams visualize and manage their work.... They need to come into the correct board when entering a project view!

Please add this feature. In the case that a team requires multiple boards, it is reasonable to assume that that one of the boards may suit the needs of most of the project members. Without a default, you force the needs of what may be a very small subset of users onto all project members.

In fact, the observed behavior of "last viewed as default" almost qualifies in my mind as a defect. You're silently allowing the browsing behavior of any user to dictate the client experience for all other users.

Please add this. It can be very frustrating to team members to have to keep switching back to a different board every time they open a project because the last accessed board is not the one that comes up upon re-open.

This would be a great feature on projects where we have a main board and then an extra board. I would like to set one as a default for all users

It's amazing that this was registered back in 2015 and still is not a part of Jira's default.

I don't know how many votes it will take but for me it's a no brainer, it should have been there from the start and is a function many look for even if they do not know it.

I've been managing a few installations and project setups with Jira and Confluence and I think it's one of the better tools out there but there are things that are just too cryptic and others that .... This is definitely one of those features that would solve a very common problem I've seen with new users that are lost in the concept of selecting a board to be able to see the Issues at hand. Usually this scares of managers and other non technical stake holders and creates a lot of confusion. There are a few workarounds like adding permission or use multiple projects but that also creates its own set of problems.

In addition it would be super if the users them self could set their own default so not only on project level but with an override for a single user.

            +1 for me!

We have a team board, and a board for managers to look at a project. Very often our developers end up in the Company board, and are confused.
Would be nice to set up a default to help Devs (especially new Devs to the Company/project) always land on the correct board view.

It would be great to have possibility to set one of existing boards as default, when we have multiple boards on a project. Each of our boards has  a specific purpose for a certain group of people. But one board is the major one, common for all participants, and should be used as default.

We have created additional board that is used in 1% of cases and now it's almost always loaded as deafault.

Would really like this. My project always loads a board that I don't want. I have multiple boards set up for my project. For example, today I was looking at the backlog for board 1. I clicked on an issue (which opened to the right) and then clicked the link for its epic (which opened as a new page). Once this happened, the BOARD IN PROJECT drop down on the left sidebar changed to board 2. When I finish editing the epic, to return to the backlog for board 1, I have to change the left sidebar back to board 1. It's annoying to have to do this every time after I edit an issue!
