In the latest release of JIRA Agile, was introduced a new colour palette for epic labels.
Some users would like to keep the old template with the background colour.

Would be good if we had an option in the Plugin Administration section to switch back to the old template.

[JSWSERVER-10367] Ability to change the Epic Labels Colour Palette.

My Epics are following another workflow than my stories, so they do not show up in the left column. Is there another way to assign colours to the epics, instead of doing it in the backlog? Or can I show them in my backlog?

Very nice! I have been testing it some time now and it work's great. Makes it easier to sort the issues and we are dividing them on "technical" vs "functional" stories by the color. Works great and makes me able to focus extra on some issues that are a little bit more critical than others...

            Thanks Atlassian! Simplicity and beauty!

So, in which version is the filled option available and where do I change this option?

Really glad to see this change since it make it more visible as stated in earlier comments!

This sounds good. Glad to see Atlassian responding to users' problems.

            Hi timo.rumland,
The fix is to use the filled style but with the new colour palette.

            Hello Martin,

that's good news! Could you give a hint on how this will be fixed - reverted to the old, filled style?

Thanks for your feedback on this issue. A fix to improve visibility affected by the recent colour changes is underway and will be released shortly. I'll update this issue again once the fix is available.

This is actually a major issue and would like to understand why Atlassian chose to invest resources and make this change such a high priority over bugs, especially those that relate to security. What was the use case for the change? What was the value determined to be to the customer for this change?

Now, it is very, very difficult to see the differences between the epics. You cannot easily distinguish the colors and I've already received complaints this morning from users, after our upgrade this weekend, regarding the degradation in usability. I'm always perplexed how these "features" get approved and prioritized so high given the bugs given that it seems that resources are limited.

Please make this higher than a minor and resolve or revert soon.

Timo has been more eloquent than I in describing the users' complaints.

I really don't like this change, because it is way more harder so spot related tickets in the backlog based on the epic color - have a look at "blue", "dark blue", "purple" and "brown". Depending on your monitor and the brightness of the daylight, it is very hard to see the difference.

We are as well getting requests to be able to switch back; they are harder to see with just an outlined color.

Many thanks for reporting this issue, however configuration for the palette or an option to use an older palette is not something we plan to add to JIRA Agile at this time.

However, we are tracking feedback on the recent colour changes and will take this into consideration.

The Product Owners spend a good deal of time on the planning chart arranging and rearranging sprint contents and priority order of things. They need to be able to easily see which epic an issue is in. The JIRA 5 the epics were in bold colors which made the view and understanding easy and fast. In JIRA 6 this is all understated and it takes the POs a little more time to understand the epic of each story.
