Thanks. This is not exactly what we need. We want to be able to set the sprints in all boards to be the same duration, e.g., 1 week, 3 weeks, etc., as the default. Is there a way we can do that?

david.lin2, it is available in JIRA Cloud today, though the feature is implemented to repeat a custom duration rather than being able to set a default duration in advance. That is, the last used duration of a sprint e.g. 3 weeks, would be the setting for the next started sprint.

We are using the cloud version of JIRA Agile. Is it available? I contacted your support and was told that this feature is still not available. I want to set all our projects to have a default sprint duration. Can you tell me how to do that?

Option 2 please! We have three week sprints. Way too long.

I would at least prefer something customizable in days, not just 1/2/3 weeks, since we use a 3-week sprint that starts on thursday but ends on tuesday (so we have some free development time and there is some time for feedback in between). I think option 2 would cover this.

The second option would be my favorite.

This would be super useful!

As noted above there are a couple of ways (possibly more) that this could be implemented.

1. A board configuration option.
   Setting the default duration here would affect the date/time values in the Create Sprint dialog when creating a new sprint in the board.
   The setting could be a dropdown with common values e.g. 1 week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks.
2. A duration selector in the Create Sprint dialog.
   This would default to the last sprint duration used when creating a sprint on this board e.g. 1 week.
   The selector could be used to change this duration easily and would include common values as above.

Option 2 would seem to be the most flexible and easiest to use, particularly in cases where multiple teams are using the same board.

Could use this now!

Yes a per-board setting would be a great help. We have different teams using between 1 - 4 week sprints. It would be very handy to not do this manually each time a team starts a new sprint.

Indeed useful if we could set a default sprint duration per board.

Any of these options would be OK, I think:

• per-board default set in board configuration
• when a sprint is created, set the length to be the same as the previous one.

I suggest to have this configurable per board.
It should be pretty simple to get it implemented, and it brings a much better user experience (for those teams that do no sprint for 2 weeks).

This would save me extremely boring repetitive tasks as well, two-week sprints are too long for some of my projects.

I would also appriciate this option. We have 1 week sprints for the week and it is quiet annoying.

This feature would be very helpfull for me.

We have 14 teams that plan weekly sprints each Tuesday. I have to change the default sprint length each week. Over the course of a year, you're saving me 672 default field overrides. Thanks.

This would be a very useful feature to have to allow for the least amount of modifications as preferred dates will be set at default.

I would also really like to see this option as it's quite a custom value for anyone using JIRA and simply hard-coding seems very restrictive. Thanks.

Anything has changed regarding this request? I can't find any option to change the default Sprint duration so there is probably no such option in GUI yet?

+1 for this feature. It would be really helpful, as currently every time we start a sprint we have to change the duration. Thanks for adding the issue Clarissa.

Such a feature definitely makes sense. Saves a few clicks after each sprint planning meeting to get times adjusted. Over time, this adds up.

We would like to see this feature added as well. We find ourselves changing this every week. Not a major thing but would be very nice if we could use the default values when starting a sprint.
