It would be great to have an option to have the timelines based on what is in the story points field for each story, instead of entering start and end dates for those.
Specifically, the users would specify the definition of a story point in terms of time (e.g. 1 story point = 1 day of work) and then have the timeline generated based on:
- How many story points (e.g. days) the story will take to complete
- The dependencies they have defined in Jira b/t that story and others
- The assignee of the story, their capacity (40 hrs a week), and relative rank of that story relative to other stories in their backlog.
In summary, the users would be able to enter how long they think a story will take, the assignee, the rank, and the dependencies, then have the timeline (e.g. Gantt chart) get generated to help visualize how long all the work will take. Also, if any changes are made on these fields, the timeline will get updated automatically.
