Issue Summary

The new Parent field's performance is slow when the instance has a large number of issues.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Click on the Parent field in the Issue View/Issue Create
2. Wait for the Parent candidate results to load
3. Alternatively, also type in a search query

Expected Results

Parent candidates are displayed within a reasonable timeframe.

Actual Results

Parent candidates can take upwards of 10 seconds to load on some instances.

Workaround

Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
