Issue Summary

At the moment, child issues without a parent won’t be shown on our timeline as detailed in Project timeline limits in Jira Software document.

This request is to support issues without parent Epics on the timeline grouped in a 'no parent' section.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Enable Timeline and Child-level issue scheduling on the board under Board settings.
2. Create only standard issues in your Kanban project.
3. Try to visualize those issues on the Timeline of the board.

Expected Results

The standard issues should be displayed in the Timeline and allow us to schedule them.

Actual Results

If the standard issues do not have a parent Epic, the standard issues are not displayed.

Workaround

The workaround is to create one dummy Parent Epic in the project.

• Bulk update the parent of all standard issues in the project to the dummy Epic.
• You will now be able to visualize all the issues on the Timeline.
