Issue Summary
Capacity Planning in Advanced Roadmap for a Kanban team isn't considering that team's capacity is weekly. Instead, it allocates all the team's capacity in a single day.
Currently, we do not take into account the start date or account for cases where only the last day of the iteration contains work. This feature was implemented for general and continuous planning use cases, such that it is expected there will be scope assigned to the previous days of the iteration which consumes most of the week's capacity.
Steps to Reproduce
- Navigate to the plan
- Go to the "Teams" tab
- Create a new team with the settings below:
- Team type: Kanban
- Capacity (weekly hours): 32
- Create an issue and set to:
- Estimates: 40h
- Team: Select the team created above
- Target start: Any Friday
- Target end: Next Friday
- Check the capacity insights
Expected Results
Capacity should consider the start date and calculate the capacity accordingly. Being 8h on the first day, and the rest 32h on the next week
Actual Results
The capacity distribution algorithm is allocating 32 hours available for that team on the first day, which is the last day of the week.
Workaround
Creating separate tasks of 8 hours for one day and the remaining hours for the next week.
