Problem
Customer uses third party tools like AHA, where the date sync takes place to Jira in the form of HTML tags to the custom fields.
When RTF formatted (industry standard) data is entered using the API for "Text Field" ( Example: Description, Notes, customer fields of this type, etc.), the Jira tool treats said data as text and does not internally convert HTML to the Wikistyle.
Suggested Solution
Jira API should accept industry standard data (like RTF) or minimally provide Atlassian supported third party software to pre-process data that can be imported via its API, as the internal data format is proprietary when compared to other tools up stream and downstream that share data programmatically.
Why This Is Important
The API does not accept RTF (industry standard) that other tools generate, and as developers of the API and source code pumping the data into Jira text field they do not have the source code to pre-process the data before pumping the data into the API.
