List view is useful for surfacing high-level information with customizable columns. If changes to issues are desired, it's cumbersome as clicking on the issue requires you to leave the filter view (either by directly clicking on an issue and navigating away, or right clicking to open the issue in a separate tab). Only limited information can be changed without navigating away, by clicking on three dots, which reveals change options in a dropdown. This modal feels limited with respect to individual issue modifications.
The split window Detail View is useful for cycling through issues via the issue list on the left, and viewing issues at a greater level of detail with the issue window on the right. This also allows for more flexibility with changes to an individual issue, without navigating away from the issue filter. This modal feels limited with respect to viewing issue details at a high-level (example, I want to see the Parent Issue in the Issue List window, but this is lost when when viewing in Detail View, as the single column only reveals Issue Key and Summary).
Our team desires a combination of these features. This would be achievable if the Issue List in Detail View inherits the same Column customization that is possible in the List View. Since the Issue List window in Detail View can currently be resized, we don't feel like there would be a UI constraint if this functionality is added.
