Problem Statement

Currently, Jira allows user to overlap dates (Start Date / End Date) even when issues are dependent between each other.

Expected Results

A warning message should be shown. By now, a warning message is only shown in Dependencies Report and in Timeline the badge will turn red to indicate that the dates of this dependency don’t line up.

Actual Results

The overlapping of dates are not blocked. The setting of sequential / concurrent is only directly considered if you use Auto-Schedule feature.
