In the old issue view when you created a new child issue from within an epic and a creation screen popped up you could change the destination project and the Epic link field remained with the value of the originating epic. This is not the case in the new issue view and if you follow the same procedure you have to select the Epic link value again after changing the destination project as the field is reset.
