    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

Create a checklist field type on issues cards that allows users to create checklists on the issue. At times this is more useful than creating a child issue.

This is really useful, hope the team can implement this feature soon!

I would love to have functionality like this. It happens so many times a month where I have an issue that has check boxes to complete or  I need a round of people to review something to get it approved and to  close out an action item

In my company we use this app https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1228109/recurring-checklists-and-report?hosting=cloud&tab=overview

The best in it is that I can create recurring tasks with checklist with predefined fields like sprint.

I strongly upvote this!  Having the ability to add a simple checklist item would be beneficial as opposed to installing a 3rd party marketplace app.

@Todd, I'm aware of the 'Checklists' options as app integrations. I use one of them today, but it's not the solving the problem actual problem I'm having.

            1. App integrations only work on the web version of JIRA. They checklists don't show up in the native Jira app, so when I go to see what actions need to be done in a task, they are not there. Only visible via web. Because our teams use Jira native applications and it's pointless then.
            2. The 'Action Items' become a checklist between Descriptions and subtasks. I want the checklist in-line as part of the description, like confluence allows. This way there is opportunity for further context, code snipets, tables, pictures, etc. that can be included in the checklist for full clarity.

In other words, for what I'm looking for it needs to within the description and not an add-on that 'kinda-works'.

There are multiple app integrations in Jira that can accomplish this.  Do a search for Checklists, and pick the app integration which has the functionality and look and feel you most prefer.

This seems so simple to add because it's already in Confluence with '/action item'. Just add it to descriptions and we'll all be so happy! Having actionable checklist in the description of a text is so much more effective, I'm shocked it's not out-of-the-box option today. Please add this. What do we need to do to get this added?
